Do first — this week

About two hours in total, all inside the Wix editor. Item 1 is likely the single biggest ranking gain available to you.

1Rename the blank signs
Biggest single win

Your main service page appears in Google titled just "Plants". In Wix: page → Settings → SEO basics → Title tag.

Also trim the two overlong page descriptions (Office Plant Rental at 208 characters, Reception Flower Displays at 168) to about 150, so Google doesn't cut them mid-sentence.

2Fix the "£50, in stock" problem
Misleads Google

Every plant page tells Google the plant is for sale at £50 and in stock — on 29 of 32 pages checked, the same £50 regardless of plant. You rent plants; nothing on the site can be bought. In Wix Stores settings, either enter real per-plant hire pricing or turn off product rich results so Google stops showing "£50, in stock". If you keep prices, also replace the sample SKU (36523641234523) still sitting on five pages.

3Delete the leftover "Category1" page
Leftover default

/category/category1 is a Wix placeholder page, live in Google with 14 words on it, holding two stray plants. Delete it (or hide it from search) and move Kentia Palm and Strelitzia Nicolai into All Products.

4Decide what happens to the plant pages
A third of the site

Of your 107 plant pages, roughly 30 are problems: 19 are duplicates of another page — same plant, same £50 price, only the photo differs (Monstera ×4, Ficus Lyrata ×3, Aglaonema ×3, and six more pairs); five still carry Wix's sample text ("I'm a product description…"); 27 have no description at all — about ten words each. Google reads this as a site of near-identical empty pages and spreads your ranking power across them.

Pick one option in the box below — the tick-box above is for once it's done.

The one decision: the plant pages

Pick one. My recommendation is marked.

Over the next few weeks

Each one is small on its own. A page at a time is fine.

Give the photos descriptions
Google is blind to most photos

30 of 40 photos on the homepage, 12 of 15 in the Gallery (where photos are the page), and 22 of 27 in All Products have no description. Several say only "logo.png" or a camera filename — the main photo on your maintenance page is described as "DSCF1697.JPEG". In Wix: click the image → alt text → describe what's shown, e.g. "Living wall in a London office reception".

Fatten the thin pages

Orchid Displays has 65 words, the Gallery 64. Aim for 150+ describing what you do, for whom, in which areas.

Housekeeping batch
  • Three pages have two main headings instead of one: Contact, Living Walls, and Reception Flowers (its second one is "Have more questions?" — demote it to a subheading). Both category pages have none at all.
  • Footer says "2023 by Plant Displays Plus" — update it.
  • Misspelled plant names in titles and headings, worth fixing while you write the descriptions: Benghalenis → benghalensis, Spatiphyllum → spathiphyllum, Elipticum → ellipticum, Recarvata → recurvata, Asplenia Demorphum → Asplenium dimorphum, "Focus" → Ficus.
  • The Reception Flowers main heading starts with an invisible stray character — retype it.

Where the wins are

From checking who actually ranks today for the searches that matter (public results, 26 August 2026 — a guide, not measured traffic).

1Strengthen the plant maintenance page

"Plant maintenance company London" is the weakest field we saw — tiny one-person sites rank in it. You already have the exact right page, and "established 1994" is a trust line none of them can match. Add it to the page properly and this can compete now.

2Write three to five plant-care posts

For "office plant maintenance" as a topic, the results are all care guides — even a scanned PDF ranks. No London service company is there. Plain-English posts in your Advice Centre could take spots none of your competitors are contesting.

3Add an artificial plants page

You have no artificial page at all; Plant Designs, Funky Yukka and Inleaf all do. One service page, framed as supply and install.

4Christmas tree hire page — live before October
Seasonal deadline

Every major competitor has one; demand is annual and predictable. It needs to exist before people start searching.

5Two trust checks

Search Google for "Plant Displays Plus". In our checks, directories (Yell, Interior Design Index) and Instagram came up before your own site for your own name. If Google shows the same, that confirms the site's standing is thin — the fixes on this page address exactly that.

Check your Google Business Profile is claimed and current. None surfaced in our searches, and for a London service business that profile feeds the map results sitting above everything else.

Be patient with "office plant hire London". That search is contested by well-established specialists with large sites. The fixes here are what earn a place there over months — that's the harvest, not the seed. Meanwhile, every ranking competitor has things you could pick up over time: named clients or a case study, a price signal ("from £X per month"), and visible reviews. One case-study page plus one price line would close the biggest trust gap.

What's already right — and what to ignore

So you know where not to spend time.

The foundations are healthy. Every page is reachable and readable by Google, all redirects are correct, and your business details (name, address, phone) are correct in the local-business listing Google reads — that's what feeds the map results. No fake review markup anywhere, which is a common penalty risk you don't have. The homepage title and description already target "office plant rental London" well.

Ignore site speed work. The site is heavy (a 1.5 MB homepage), but that's Wix's internal plumbing — you can't meaningfully change it from the editor, and it's not where your rankings will move. Photos are already served in modern formats, nothing measured broken, and there are no broken links anywhere on the site.
